PRSA San Antonio had an insightful discussion on Tuesday, Oct. 24, about “Empowering PR Pros with DEI Language.” We examined some of the many diverse terms (DEI, DEIB, DEIJ, JEDI). Practitioners learned what terms organizations use and do to align with new federal and state laws – while still upholding their commitments to multicultural audiences.
Speakers were Shanita Baraka Akintonde, president of ShanitaSpeaks, LLC; Angeles M. Valenciano, executive director of the Texas Diversity Council; and moderator Melissa Vela-Williamson, APR, founder of MVW Communications.
