I am thrilled to finally be an APR! To me, those three little letters designate PR practitioners who value the importance of research, strategic planning and measurable results. APRs know that tactics alone are not sufficient and that careful planning is a necessity. The process of becoming an APR was great because it exposed me to new theories and research methods and taught me how critical objectives are.

I also loved how the process provided an outlet for me to continue developing as a professional. But the best part of the experience? Working toward this goal gave me an opportunity to build closer relationships with several of the APRs in my local chapter. I really enjoyed the mentor relationships that evolved. I loved getting to bounce ideas off of them as I prepared for the Readiness Review and discuss concepts from the study guide or just current events through a PR lens. My local APRs were always supportive and cheered me on to the finish line. I look forward to providing the same encouragement to future candidates.
